BRAKEMATIC® controls for electrohydraulic drum and disc brakes fundamentally consist of a programmable frequency converter (FC) with functional modules (pedal, internal or external parametrisation interface, process control module with measuring sensor). A change in frequency is generated at the output of the frequency converter. This is used to control an electrohydraulic thruster in order to vary its hydraulic force. The resultant actuating force of the ELDRO® unit counteracts the braking force of the braking system, meaning that a regulation of the braking process can be realised via this relationship.

A BRAKEMATIC® control system can be used to operate multiple brakes simultaneously, provided that the functions and the operating mode of the brake systems are identical and the sum of the current input values of all ELDRO® units corresponds to the size of the Brakematic system selected.

Note:
Control units and brake lifting devices form a functional unit and are individually coordinated and locked to the load cases by the manufacturer. If a component is replaced, it will require a recalibration of the system. The drive motor and brake lifting devices have separate supply lines. A circuit diagram and an operating manual are included in the scope of supply.

The following functions can be implemented with the BRAKEMATIC® system:

Pedal control P:
Electronic pedal control with manual parameter specification for generating an analogue braking procedure. The system permits sensitive braking of travelling operations and rotary movements

Ramp function R:
Electronic control for generating fixed, pre-programmed braking torque profiles to realise forced opening and closing movements

Advance:
Electronic control with variable parameter specification for generating controlled braking torque profiles, e.g. constant braking times in complex conveyor systems or an ABS system for vehicles
