Storm brake / rail clamp operated hydraulically 

type VZH

Hydraulically operated storm brake / rail clamp to protect crane systems or rail bound machines against unwanted movements e.g. storm.

  • Hydraulic closing and opening
  • Basic storm brake with hand pump
  • Restraining / holding forces up to 256 kN per clamp. Optionally, up to 623 kN restraining force per clamp
  • Limit switches monitoring for clamp position
  • Using a hydraulic power unit with pressure storage. Optional: Closing via pressure reservoir with power blackout / self-acting at power failure
  • Lateral compensation for rail misalignments ±15 mm or more, if requested
  • Horizontal and vertical version

Rail clamp VZH – shown as VZH-2 the system basis for the variants VZH-H, VZH-A, VZH-A-S, etc. In the front view the guide rollers are hidden behind the rail sweeper.
